Plastics In The Ocean
Under the Surface is a new initiative at the National Oceanography Centre, creating a series of resources which explore the ocean in an accessible but informative way. The first one created is about plastics in the ocean. Whilst I do not design the website for the NOC, I occasionally get to collaborate with our web team on initiative such as this, creating assets and layouts for use on the website which we then use in print, social media and at industry events. We went through many iterations to tell the story of plastics in the ocean eventually breaking down the narrative into stages and then key points within each of those. I illustrated them in a step-by-step to make the information as accessible as possible, stripping out any extra details to ensure the message is clear. Combined with carefully crafted text and clear labelling. The final website will be launched shortly.
