Present Shock

The detrimental psychological effects of technology and the internet are becoming increasingly prevalent in our society. The influential American futurist, Alvin Toffler, predicted the potential effects of such technology over forty years ago. Exploring these psychological effects with today’s society by creating huge kaleidoscopic images, inspired by his metaphor of the racing rate of change today being like “a kaleidoscope run wild”. By pairing these images with his text, we can begin to explore our relationship with technology and try to understand our growing psychosis.
