Marine Autonomous Robotics Poster Series
The National Oceanography Centre is an industry leader in marine autonomous technology development with over twenty years of experience. A central part of this is the development of Marine Autonomous Robotic Systems (MARS) such as the Autosub Long Range, known as Boaty McBoatface. An ongoing series of posters have been produced to showcase scientific missions undertaken, the intricate workings of individual robotic vehicles and the extensive range of gliders and attachments. The designs of the posters are inspired by the technical aspects of the robotic development, utilising a visual grid system, flat diagrammatic illustrations and clear bold highlights. The series were designed as beautiful posters but also functional documents for the partners and the teams, aiding in comparing and contrasting capabilities and functions.
