When the National Oceanography Centre became an independent charitable organisation there was an opportunity to refocus and plan for the future of the organisation. Several internal strategies were produced for all employees to engage with.
The design of these documents needed to be clear and precise, presenting the information in a bold and engaging way. To differentiate between all the documents each was assigned a single colour for instant recognition and to give each its own identity. The use of icons was chosen over additional imagery to be as clear and simple as possible, a series of over 40 single colour icons were produced so far. Work on several other strategies continues.
